How to Pay the TNPSC Exam Fee (and Who Doesn't Have To)
Two separate payments exist: the one-time ₹150 OTR registration, and a per-exam fee for each notification unless you are exempt.
- Step 1Know your fee before applyingThe notification states the exam fee (commonly ₹100 for prelims-level papers). OTR registration of ₹150 is separate and already paid if you registered.
- Step 2Check the exemption listSC, SCA, ST, PwBD and destitute widow candidates are exempt from examination fees. The exemption applies automatically from your verified OTR profile claims.
- Step 3Pay online inside the application flowNet banking, cards and UPI are supported in the portal's payment step. Complete payment before the notification's deadline, unpaid applications don't count.
- Step 4If a payment failsWait for the bank reversal, then retry, don't double-pay in panic. Keep the transaction reference; the portal reflects successful payment against your application.
