Deluding eve if it prolongs The whole town will suffer love-pangs

அறிவு மயங்கும்படியாக மாலைப்பொழுது வந்து படரும்போது, இந்த ஊரும் மயங்கி என்னைப் போல் துன்பத்தால் வருந்தும்.

If evening's shades, that darken all my soul, extend;From this afflicted town will would of grief ascend

Explanation

When night comes on confusing (everyone's) mind, the (whole) town will lose its sense and be plunged in sorrow
