Before you apply

Three things people get wrong on the day of the application.

01 · Degree proof
Final-year students can apply provisionally.
You will need to produce your degree certificate at the time of certificate verification. Marksheet alone will not do.
02 · Tamil compulsory
Tamil proficiency is required for every exam.
If you did not take Tamil up to SSLC, you will have to clear the Tamil paper in Mains. There is no English-only route.
03 · One-time registration
Pay ₹150 once, valid five years.
Skip per-exam fees by signing up for OTR. SC, ST and PWD candidates pay nothing, application fee waived.

Who is eligible to apply for TNPSC exams?
TNPSC exams are open to Indian citizens who meet the age and educational qualification rules for the specific group. Age limits and minimum qualifications differ between Group 1, 2/2A, 4 and VAO, enter your details above to check the exact rule that applies to you.
What are the age relaxations under TNPSC?
TNPSC offers age relaxations to SC, ST, SCA, MBC/DNC, BC, BCM and PwBD candidates as per Tamil Nadu government rules. Ex-servicemen and destitute widows also receive relaxations. Can graduates apply for Group 4 / VAO?
Yes. Group 4 and VAO require a minimum SSLC pass, graduates are over-qualified but still eligible. There is no upper-qualification bar; many graduates apply to Group 4 / VAO for early appointment while preparing for Group 1 or Group 2.
